Mary Ogembo was born in 1971 in Keny. From 1990 to 1993 she studied Fine Art at the Creative Art Centre in Nairobi. After graduating with a diploma in Fine Art Mary Ogembo started painting as a freelance artist. Her main motifs are African women portraying their beauty, struggles, duties, and the nature. She also has grown to love a lot sculpting in wood. Mrs. Ogembo has participated in several exhibitions, e.g. organised by Kuona Trust, National Museums of Kenya, America club in Nairobi, French Cultural Centre Nairobi, Goethe Institute Nairobi and many others.
